Christmas in Singapore
23 - 26 Dec 2015
Day 1 - 23 Dec 2013
We arrived at the Marina Cruise Centre at 6:30pm after being on board Superstar Virgo for 31 nights on the Southern Hemisphere Cruise. After getting our luggage and clearing immigration we took a taxi to our accommodation place that we booked through Airbnb. We arrived at A Treasure Trove, Punggol Walk at 8:00PM. The landlady Lynn was there to welcome us. Later we found out she actually stays in the condo and rented out two of the rooms. Three nights stay here cost us RM514, which is reasonable compared to staying in a hotel.
The condo is just 5 minutes from the Punggol MRT station. It comes with full condo facilities though we do not have time to use them. We have been to Singapore many times. So this trip we just want to explore Sentosa Island, visit Haw Par Villa that I last visited more than 20 years ago and of course see the Christmas deco in Orchard Road.
Day 2 - 24 Dec 2013
We had our breakfast at the food court near Punggol MRT station. We then took the MRT to Harbour Front and get on the monorail to Sentosa Island. Getting around Sentosa Island is easy. There is a free Sentosa Beach Tram and three free Sentosa Bus Lines that we can just hop on and hop off.
At Tanjong Beach
We spent the whole morning exploring the Sentosa Beach from one end to the other using the free tram
Seaview at the Southernmost point of Continental Asia
The tiny islet, which is Asia's closest point to the Equator is linked to the Sentosa's Palawan Beach via a suspension bridge. Flanked by two viewing towers, the timber viewing deck offers an unobstructed view of the South China Sea. You can enjoy the refreshing sea breeze and captivating views at Sunset.

Near the Siloso Beach
Had our lunch inside this food court. Fried Kwei Teow cost SGD6 which is more than RM18! In Singapore you don't convert your currency or you end up eating nothing!
The food court was packed with lunch crowd.
Fort Siloso Skywalk's Viewing Platform. Opened in July 2015, this 11 storey high Skywalk trail is a scenic route to get to the historical Fort Siloso
Symphony of lights show between Merlion Plaza and Beach Plaza
The mechanical crane show
Due to the large crowd at the Monorail Station we decided to walk along the Sentosa Boardwalk back to Harbour Front to board the MRT to Punggol.
Day 3 - 25 Dec 2015
After breakfast we took the MRT to Haw Par Station which is just next door to Haw Par Villa.
We wanted to have lunch at the Japanese buffet restaurant near Clark Quay MRT station but is was closed and replace with Japanese Steam Boat restaurant.
After lunch at the food court in Clark Quay we went to China Town
Wanted to try this German sausage for a long time. We could not find him at his road side stall as he has now moved into the Chinatown Complex which is just a stone throw from his former place
We had our desert in this desert stall which we found out from a fellow customer is the best in Chinatown Complex
Chinese New Year is in the air in Chinatown even though today is Christmas.
We went back to the condo for a shower before we went to Newton Circus Food Court for our dinner. After dinner we went to join the crowd in Orchard Road to see the Christmas deco. This year's decoration is not that impressive.
Orchard Road was jammed pack with people on Christmas night
Day 5 - 26 Dec 2016
We took a taxi to the bus terminal at The Plaza, Beach Road for our bus journey back to Kuantan. All in we were away from home for 35 days, the longest holiday taken by us,
