 3D2N Ipoh

15-17 Aug 2024

For lunch we planned to have it at Restaurant Thean Chun but it was closed on that day. We then walked to the nearby Restaurant Sin Kin Kok for our lunch

After lunch we too a stroll along Concubine Street which is one of many tourist attraction sin Ipoh.
This lane’s past is notorious because this is where a rich tin mining tycoons (such as Yau Tet Shin) once kept their mistresses. In fact, in Cantonese, Concubine Lane is Yee Lai Hong which directly translates to Mistress Lane. That was over a hundred years ago.

Today, the lane is full of small stalls squeezed together. Most sell quirky snacks, souvenirs, and trendy clothing.

We then walked to Market Lane, also known as the Second Concubine Lane. Unlike the popular Concubine Lane, Market Lane did not have as many shops / stalls and was quieter. The lane was always colourfully decorated and featured a number of beautiful murals.

Our highlight for the day is the visit to Ho Yan Hor Museum and the Han Chin Pet Soo, which is the Hakka Miners' Club and Museum. They are next to each other.
