Boarding the tendering boat for The Port of Geraldton
Our cruise ship ism too big to berth at the Port of Geralton. So we have to board the smaller tender boards which can accommodate 150 passengers each. Upon arrival at the board we purchased a AUD5 pass for a hop on hop off tourist bus that took us to 5 attractions.
Our first stop was the HMAS Sydney II Menorial. It is a fitting tribute to the 645 lives lost on the HMAS Sydney II in 1941. From here we can have a 360 degrees view of Geraldton.
Our next stop is the St Francis Xavier Cathedral. Located in the heart of Geraldton, this iconic architectural Cathedral is the work of the late Monsignor Hawes. The parish priest arrived in Geraldton in 1915, the foundation was laid in 1916 and the building completed in 1938
Later we took a stroll along Geraldton's magnificent foreshore and viewed the aboriginal arts, the emu eggs, on the beach
